Appendix B: Waveform Data in MSO/DPO2000B and MSO/DPO2000 Series Instruments
reduced resolu
tion waveform. The ltering frequency of the full resolution
waveform is not under your direct control. It is a function of the horizontal
and acquisition settings and the selected FilterVu frequency. The 3 d B cutoff
frequency for this ltering may be different for the LRL record and the thumbnail
record. The a ctual lter frequency applied to the acquired (LRL) and displayed
(thumbnail) waveforms are available in the waveform preamble:
WFMOutpre:FILTERFreq?
This query returns the 3 d B low pass lter cutoff frequency for:
The acquired (LRL) waveform when the DATa:RESOlution is set to FULL.
The displayed (thumbnail) waveform when the DATa:RESOlution is set
to
REDUced.
When waveforms are sent to the instrument using the CURVe command or recalled
from ISF les, the ltering frequency is obtained from the waveform preamble:
WFMInpre:FILTERFreq
This co
mmand sets the 3 dB low pass lter cutoff frequen cy for the waveform
being transferred to the instrument’s reference waveform memory.
Only
F
ULL
resolution waveforms may b e sent to the instrument for storage and
display in reference waveform memory.
The
ltering of reduced resolution waveforms is controlled using the
FILTERVu:FREQuency command. The available low pass frequencies depends
on the instrument bandwidth and the horizontal settings (scale and record
length) and may be queried for the last acquired waveform, (as specied by the
DATa:SOUrce command) using the FILTERVu:FREQuency:AVAILable? query.
This query returns a comma separated list of available FilterVu frequencies in
de
creasing order for the last acquired source waveform . For example, on a
100 MHz bandwidth instrument at a full resolution record length of 1 M points
and a horizontal scale of 20 microseconds per division, the q uery returns these
values which apply to the reduced resolution (displayed) waveform: 100000000,
75000000, 42000000, 21000000, 11000000, 5500000, and 2200000.
The low pass lter frequency in effect can be queried using the
FILTERVu:FREQuency? query.
FilterVu Controls for the
Displayed Waveform
The FilterVu feature can be turned on or off using the DISplay:GLITch command
and the display intensity of the g litch capture waveform can be controlled using
the DISplay:INTENSITy:GLITch command.
